Description

Hammerhead, with lateral arms of type B6.

A (broad): Cruciform head pattern, type 2b, with central boss in high relief.

B and D (narrow): Plain.

C (broad): At the centre of the head is a flat boss.

Discussion

Though this cross-head uses the cruciform ornament favoured by the spiral-scroll school its lack of decoration distinguishes it from that group. For the head shape see Introduction, p. 31.
