Appendix C item (lost stones for which no illustration has survived)

Crofton (1903, 45–9) in discussing the double rectangular socket-stone, Stretford 1 (p. 239), recorded claims by an elderly person in 1873 that other such stones could be found at Cheetham Hill and Rochdale.
