Cox's illustration shows a stone decorated with two sharply curved fragments of interlace strand (Cox, E. 1891–2, fig. facing 310).
The seemingly delicate carving might suggest work of the pre-Viking period but there is insufficient evidence to come to any conclusion about date. If this fragment can be identified with Overchurch 3 below then Cox described it as part of a cross-head. The interlace could restore as some form of triquetra, a popular ornament in the arms of a cross.
