As it now appears, a block-like piece, carved on both faces.
A (broad): At least thirteen compass points survive on this face. There is a centre defined by a small incised circle, and a circular zone defined by a larger concentric circle. Around this are various shapes partly made up of straight or diagonal lines, and one other complete circle. Outside the larger circle, below, are two extensions, one like the end of a side arm of a cross, the other, wider, more like the start of a rectangular shaft.
B and D (narrow) and E (top): No convincingly dressed edge survives.
C (broad): There is only one large complete circle on this face. Semi-circles around the edge could suggest an attempt at a cross of type B10 even cruder than on Adel 1, except that it would have five arms. There is another semi-circle curving around the centre but in the wrong position to be concentric. Extensions formed from straight lines protrude from two sides of the main circle.
Appendix A item (Stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date)
This piece clearly bears some relationship to Adel 1, 2 and 3, but it is difficult to know what it is. It could be a grave-marker of unknown final form, but it is undeniably crude even in comparison. It may have been a less skilled copy or it could simply be unfinished or even a practice piece.
