Description

Carving survives on only one face. A triangular field enclosed by wide (1.75 cm) curving bands contains some worn and rather anonymous plant-scroll. The point of the triangle is flattened against a vertical incision of what may be a central rib. There is also the beginning of the enclosing band for another field below.

Discussion

This division into small fields enclosed between curving bands is characteristic of other pieces from this site, and may have its inspiration in metalwork or manuscripts: see discussion of Keynsham 9.
