Measurements: H. 54 cm (21.2 in); W. max. 28 cm (11 in); D. max. 26 cm (10.2 in)

Stone type: Moderately sorted, medium-grained, greyish orange pink (5YR 7/3), feldspathic sandstone. Namurian sandstone consistent with Roaches or Ashover Grit, Marsden Formation, Millstone Grit Group, Carboniferous (R.T.)

Description

Slightly ovoid in section with little in the way of a taper; covered with coarse, diagonal tooling marks.

Appendix A item (stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date)

See Alstonefield 13; it is possible, given the absence of tapering shared with Alstonefield 15, that these formed part of the same monument.
