Object type: Fragment of animal-head label stop
Measurements: H. 12.8 cm (5 in); W. 4.6 cm (1.8 in); D. 8.4 cm (3.3 in)
Stone type: Yellowish grey (5Y 8/1) sparry matrix supported, slightly peloidal oolite (grain size 0.2 to 0.6 mm) with a little shell debris. A few hollow ooliths. Cleeve Cloud Member, Birdlip Limestone Formation, Inferior Oolite Group, Middle Jurassic.

Fragment from the muzzle of an animal-head label stop with the same profile and scale as no. 27 (above). It also bears very similar U-shaped grooves either side of a central ridge. It could, therefore, be a fragment of the other head from a matching pair.
