Carved on two faces with a smooth armpit curve.
A (broad) : The flat band edge moulding continues along the shallow arm-pit of the cross-head (type D10). Lying close against the curve is a triple split leaf, the uppermost element with a curled tip. To its left is a ridged node and the beginning of a stem.
B and D (ends) : Broken away.
C (broad) : A mirror image of face A.
E and F (narrow) : Plain and smoothly dressed.
This is plausibly part of the same cross-head as no. 1 and as such continues the scroll. The leaf type is one found also on the Ruthwell cross (Bailey and Cramp 1988, fig. 5). Adams identified the piece as 'part of a central figure of Christ' (1990, 35, fn. 43), but this depends only on the element with ribbing which could be a draped arm. There is not sufficient surviving, however, to be certain of the figure.
