One face visible; crisp but broken
Description

The narrow side of a shaft. The edge mouldings cannot be seen, though the transverse moulding at the top of the panel with its corner locking ring survives. The panel contains Como-braid twist.

Discussion

The Como, or S-twist, and the locking rings are diagnostic of the Allertonshire workshop: see Kirby Sigston 1 (St Lawrence).
